Sagar Studio investigates the nature and possibilities of pottery in response to the needs of newly formed households, driven by the challenge of making for the real world. A return to a forgotten craft becomes an upcycling of ancestral ideas.

Rediscovering what endures. Working with clay shaped by rotational motion, we bring not only the organic, mineral qualities of this remarkable matter into daily life, but also elements of ceremony, monumentality, artistic imagination, and play within functional everyday objects. The dynamics and centrifugal force of the potter’s wheel guide every emerging form.

The ceramic bodies and glazes used in the studio are sourced and formulated locally: salvaged from defunct ceramic and porcelain factories, excavated during foundation work for homes in towns around Wrocław, extracted from quarries across Lower Silesia, or supplied by local producers.
