Shitake draws from organic structures, soft irregularities, and natural surface tones. The forms retain something of a functional object while also moving toward the language of small-scale sculpture.

The series works through material presence and slight departures from symmetry. As a result, each piece remains individual and readable even in a simple arrangement.
